Mark your calendar to attend OWU Orientation from August 22-25, 2013

The Ohio Wesleyan University Orientation program eases your transition to college by welcoming you to campus and the Delaware community with a busy schedule of social and educational programs. Our goal is to introduce you to Ohio Wesleyan’s campus, traditions, and expectations, but even more importantly to help you become part of the OWU community right away.

During Orientation 2013 you’ll participate in a variety of activities that help you learn how to handle the issues you’ll encounter during the transition to college life. Each day includes small group meetings with Orientation Leaders who will help you discover ways to get involved in OWU campus organizations and activities. New Students will also have to opportunity to meet with their academic adviser and attend informational sessions aimed toward college success and safety.

Thursday afternoon, parents and families are cordially invited to Convocation. This event is one of only two times—the other being graduation—when the entire New Student class will be together in one place. The Convocation ceremony marks the opening of the academic year and features the faculty dressed in full regalia and speeches by Ohio Wesleyan President Rock Jones and the president of Wesleyan Council on Student Affairs, among others. Friday morning offers separate programs for students and parent/family members. Then on Friday afternoon, it’s time to say goodbye. The remainder of the Orientation program is for new students only.
